Trustee Board Secretary

About the role

Are you an experienced office manager, administrator or PA? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to use your skills to help drive a charity with a difference? If so, this is the opportunity for you.

What will you be doing?

You will join our team of dedicated and experienced trustees as board secretary for the Better Giving Partnership. This is the parent charity that guides the development of the Givto.org fundraising service.

You will first and foremost be a trustee, attending the board meetings every three months, taking part in discussions and decisions about our work, and helping to drive us forward.

As board secretary, you will also be responsible for organising the meetings, producing the agenda and papers with our Chair and Chief Executive, and producing board meeting minutes. You will also be the person that holds the rule book about how we operate, so trustees will turn to you when the board needs advice.

We recently launched an exciting new online fundraising service called Givto that has already helped more than 50 different charities. Our board will be taking some key decisions about how we operate and the services we provide over the coming months. So this is your opportunity to get involved and help shape a new charity that will provide services that really benefit other good causes and donors nationally.

What are we looking for?

You will:

  • Have experience as an office manager, administrator or PA or in a similar role as Board Secretary
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Have an excellent standard of written English
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Be friendly, approachable and have a can-do attitude
  • Be flexible, reliable, and trustworthy

What difference will you make?
We are a relatively new charity that is run entirely by volunteers. We have some very exciting new ideas that will help more people to give to different charities. As part of the trustee board, you will be in the driving seat as we develop these ideas and launch them to charities and people across the country.
